“Wow! Me and my husband were blown away with Pure Air. Randy was VERY knowledgeable, kind, and hard working. He really cared about our situation and it showed! Highly recommend this company for anyone with even a suspicion of mold.”
Your house looks fine, mostly smells fine, and you still feel wrong in it. Maybe it’s the congestion that clears up the second you leave for work, or headaches that only hit at home, or a kid who suddenly has a wheeze nobody can explain. You can’t fix what you can’t measure, and guessing about your own air is a losing game. We can test what your family is actually breathing and get lab results back in your hands within a few business days.

“Jack came out and immediately found the mold we had been suspecting for awhile. My husband was suffering from brain fog and headaches. My son had been to the ER multiple times last year because of breathing issues. Since getting the mold removed my son and husband’s issues have disappeared. I was shocked at the difference in the air sampling from before and after.”
“Scott Kennemer came to our home and sat down and explained the entire process to us. Next Ry and Dee came out and explained everything they would be doing for the day. Our situation is a 100% better — the pulmonary doctor is amazed at how much better my husband can breathe. I can’t say enough good things about this company and the employees!”
“Pure Air of Alabama came to the rescue. Ri the tech did an awesome job — I slept in my room after treatment for the first time in 2 weeks. Mold gone, breathing good, no musty smell anymore. I would use Pure Air again and again.”
“Great company! I reported a possible mold problem around 11:00 in the morning and had the room cleaned before 7:00 that night. I know that is not always going to be possible, but we had a problem that needed attention asap and they made it happen.”
“From the 1st phone call to the final visit, everything could not have gone any smoother. A gentleman came to my house for a site visit — he was transparent and made me feel comfortable with the process. Dee was very friendly and professional. I highly recommend this company!”
Most people who call us are chasing a symptom they can’t explain. Someone keeps getting sick, the allergy meds that used to work have stopped working, the new baby is coming home in six weeks and the nursery carpet is older than you are, or the family member with asthma has been up half the night and nothing is helping. Those are all good reasons to test. So are the practical ones: you just bought a place and want to know what you’re moving into, you finished a renovation that cut into old drywall, or there’s a musty smell in the laundry room that nobody can track down. Birmingham weather doesn’t help either. Summers here run hot and wet, storms roll through most weeks, and plenty of homes around Jefferson and Shelby County sit on crawlspaces that stay damp most of the year. Mold likes those conditions, and you usually breathe it in long before you ever see it on a wall.
We use Air-O-Cell cassette sampling, which is the standard method in the indoor air quality industry. A calibrated pump pulls a known volume of your indoor air across a sticky collection slide, catching mold spores, fragments, and other particles. We sample the rooms where you actually spend time (bedrooms, living areas, wherever symptoms are worst) and one outdoor control sample so the lab has a baseline for your area. Everything goes to an independent certified lab, where a technician looks at each slide under a microscope, identifies the spores by genus, and counts them room by room. You get the full report within a few business days. This isn’t a handheld meter flashing a green light at you. You get real numbers you can take to your doctor, your insurance company, or use to make a decision about your house.
Price depends on how many rooms you want sampled. A focused test with one or two problem areas plus an outdoor control is the cheapest way in. A full-home test covering every bedroom, common area, crawlspace, and attic gives you the complete picture but costs more, because every sample means another lab analysis. We quote the whole job before we pull a single cassette, and we hold to that number. You won’t see surprise charges when the results come back. Compared to months of doctor visits and allergy meds that aren’t working, testing is the cheap part.
Our focus is on your health, not the upsell. The sampling is Air-O-Cell, the lab is independent and certified, and you get the complete report with the actual numbers. If results come back showing elevated mold, we’ll walk you through what they mean in plain English and talk through your options, including our VaPURE remediation process if that’s the right call. If results come back normal, we’ll tell you that and you’ll have the documentation to prove it. We live and work in Birmingham, and we answer the phone when you call.
