“Randy from Pure Maintenance was extremely informative about our situation and explained how their product works and why it works so well. He was very kind and had a great attitude! Can’t recommend them enough!!”
You found mold in your house and now you want it gone. Maybe it’s a dark patch behind the washing machine, maybe it’s that damp-basement smell that won’t quit no matter how many candles you burn, or maybe your kids have been coughing for weeks and nothing else explains it. Whatever brought you here, a bottle of bleach from the hardware store isn’t going to fix it. We deal with the whole problem, not just the stain you can see, and most of our jobs are done inside a day.

“Randy Dalton came to our home for an inspection before treatment and was an absolute wonderful experience. He was professional, knowledgeable, and ready and willing to answer all of our questions and concerns. He explained how mold microbes can infect the entire house and the long term consequences of its infestation. He was kind and patient with us as we went through the breakdown of the removal process and budgeting. I absolutely recommend Pure Maintenance to anyone concerned about their home and health.”

If you can see mold on a wall, ceiling, or baseboard and it’s bigger than a dinner plate, call somebody. Same goes for that damp-towel odor that lingers in a bathroom, laundry room, or around your HVAC returns. That smell almost always means something is growing where you can’t see it. Pay attention to your body too. Recurring headaches, stuffy sinuses, or allergy symptoms that clear up the second you leave the house are classic signs of elevated spores indoors.
Birmingham’s weather does mold plenty of favors. Months of soupy summer humidity, thunderstorms that dump water into crawl spaces, and a lot of older homes in places like Homewood, Southside, and Crestwood that were built before moisture barriers were standard. Mold spreads fast once it has a foothold, and waiting a month can turn a one-day treatment into a drywall-replacement job.
First we walk the house. We want to know where the mold is, how far it’s spread, and what’s feeding it moisture. That last part matters more than people realize. If we treat the mold but leave a leaking supply line or a crawl space pulling humid air into your floors, you’ll see it again in a few months. Once the source is handled, we run Pure Air Alabama’s patented VaPURE process. Stage one is a sterilant vapor that reaches into wall cavities, attic framing, HVAC ducts, and carpet fibers. Stage two lays down a protective coating so new growth can’t take hold. People and pets stay out during the treatment itself. After the treatment cycle and proper ventilation, most families are back home the same day. Most jobs wrap in under 12 hours, and we rarely need to tear out walls or rip up flooring.
Every mold job is different. Cost comes down to how much of the house is affected, how far the spores have traveled, and what’s causing the moisture behind it all. What we can tell you is that our VaPURE process almost always comes in lower than traditional remediation. Traditional companies charge you twice: once to rip out the drywall and carpet, then again to rebuild what they tore out. We don’t do that. You get a clear written estimate before we start, and what we quote is what you pay. No hidden fees, no surprise line items when we’re finished.
Pure Air Alabama uses a remediation process most companies around here simply don’t have. The VaPURE technology is patented, tested by the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, and approved by the National Organization of Remediators and Mold Inspectors. Every job we finish gets independent post-treatment lab testing, and we guarantee your indoor mold levels will come back lower than what’s outside. If they don’t, we come back and retreat it at no extra cost. We serve homes and businesses across Jefferson, Shelby, St. Clair, Blount, and Walker counties, and we can usually be on-site the same day you call.
